Mission statement

Collabratory Complex is a non profit organization dedicated to facilitating the overall development of collaboration within artistic communities by providing access to affordable rental space and equipment that encourages creativity and connection within artists in Colorado FOR Colorado through the art of collaboration.

IT ALL BEginS WITH AN IDEA…

Collabratory is the brain child of Jasmine Lairsmith. She had the vision of an open space free from competition, rather collaboration, a space for the arts that encompassed fusing creative energy with like minded artists. Dance, Music, Digital Media, Visual Arts and Theatre would all reside under the same roof in complete harmony. A laboratory for collaboration. Conceptualizing and creating magic together. The Dance program opened in March 2018 and quickly became a success, the lone wolfs, underdogs and creatives found a safe space to be raw and vulnerable and magic would blast through the walls, leaving everyone softer, inspired and open to connection. The vision of collaboration was alive and flowing and Collabratory was becoming THE complex for professional artists throughout Colorado. The city of Denver took back the building it resided in because the holder of the original nonprofit was not fulfilling the mission, his 501 c 3 was for educating kids with autism which ended up taking a turn for the worst leaving Jasmine to close, regroup and reorganize.

Jasmine Lairsmith and her mother Katrina Lairsmith are on a mission, to create a space that offers innovative and collaborative opportunity. A space that allows artists to create from their soul, a space that Colorado artists can call home while constantly networking and collaborating with likeminded talent. CC will become a 501 c 3 and apply for funding to best serve the mission.

“I came from very humble beginnings and I truly believe that dance saved me as a youth. Thankfully I received scholarships for my training because my parents could never afford the fees.” Says Katrina Lairsmith “I feel as though Denver needs a place for kids with advanced skills to further train in their craft, kids that simply don’t have the means to take it to the next level.”

Lairsmith feels strongly that our artists are in need of SPACE to create and SUPPORT to grow within their art form. A complex that offers master classes in performing arts, life skills, art healing, wellness, and movement medicine.

After the Covid 19 pandemic we feel as though our community is in dire need of a complex for artists to rebuild, connect, and collaborate affordably.
